Edward was quizzed by students from Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College in Woodhouse, during their visit to Parliament.
The Parliamentary Education Centre facilitated the Q&A Session for students from Welbeck and Edward – offering them the chance to meet (and question!) their MP. Edward answered questions on a range of issues, from both a national perspective (Brexit; The Environment) as well as those with a strong local focus (The forthcoming closure of Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College).
Edward said: “It is always great to meet students and staff from Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College. I have had the pleasure of visiting the College on numerous occasions in the past, and never fail to be impressed by the professional, mature and conscientious manner with which the students conduct themselves, as well as the dedication and leadership of the staff. The questions posed by students were definitely challenging (some more so than those I’ve faced at the Despatch Box!), and I could tell that a lot of thought and effort had gone into them.”
