Edward addressed attendees at a local event to raise awareness of what it is like ‘Living with Dementia’.
The event provided an opportunity to listen to distinguished speakers sharing both personal, professional and medical experiences. ‘Dementia Friends’ also held an information session and many other, Dementia-related organisations and medical experts were on-hand to provide further information and advice to those who attended.
Edward said: “I have always been passionate about the need to raise awareness of dementia, as well as recognising the need to provide the best care possible to those with the condition. Before I accepted a position in Government, I campaigned strongly on the issue of dementia care, and was proud to be Co-Chair of the APPG on Dementia, working cross-party to champion the cause. It was a real honour to address those who attended the event and to talk about something which, with an ageing population, has become ever-more important in recent years, but also about something that remains close to my heart. I enjoyed meeting many of those who attended and want to thank all of the team for hosting such a successful event to raise awareness of an issue that impacts so many people.”
