Edward has held a meeting in Kirby Muxloe, to discuss residents’ ongoing concerns, regarding the disruption caused by HGVs in the village.
A recent planning application, which sought to extend the operating hours of HGVs through local routes such as Desford Road, was also on the agenda to discuss, with Edward writing to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council, setting out his strong objections to the proposed changes, on behalf of his constituents.
Edward said: “While planning, rightly, sits with local Councils and Councillors, where an application has a major impact on the whole village, as here, I will ensure local people’s voices are heard. The meeting in Kirby Muxloe was a good opportunity to discuss local residents’ concerns with Councillor Thompson, and to discuss the way to move forwards. I have already written in objection to the proposed changes- voicing the concerns that many constituents have taken the time to raise with me, and am clear a long-term solution to the problem of HGVs in the village needs to be found.”
