The Soar Valley Community Food Project, has hosted Edward on a visit to their foodbank at Rothley Baptist Church to meet volunteers and to hear more about the project.
The foodbank in Rothley, which is run jointly by Rothley Baptist Church & Rothley Parish Church, has been running since 2014, and helps to support local residents who, for a variety of reasons, find themselves in short-term difficulties and who may be struggling to feed their families.
Edward said: “I was privileged and humbled to visit the Soar Valley Community Food Project in Rothley to meet the incredible, and dedicated, local volunteers who run the foodbank each week, and to hear more about the project from them. As well as helping meet the short-term needs of people who have got in to difficulty, the team provide advice and friendly support to help tackle longer-term problems. It is a great example of a community coming together to support members of their own community.”
