Edward has held one of his regular meetings with the Leader and Chief Executive of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, where he raised local issues affecting Groby, as well as discussing broader issues such as the need for dualing of the entire length of the A5.
In particular he pressed the Council’s leadership on the on-going issue of the so-called ‘Klondyke’ site in Groby, calling on HBBC to work closely with the local ‘Steering Group’ - which brings together Edward, as Groby’s MP, the County Councillor, Ozzy O’Shea, Groby’s Borough Councillors, the Parish Council, and local residents – to move swiftly to ensure the Borough Council plays its part in tackling the problem, and implementing previous commitments to act, as well as the clear view expressed by 2017’s Parish Poll on the issue.
Edward said: “It was, as always, useful to catch up with the Leader and Chief Executive of HBBC to raise with them local issues that matter to constituents in Groby, in particular tackling the on-going problems at the ‘Klondyke’ site. It’s time this issue was resolved once and for all, and I continue to press the Council on their obligation to act.”
