Edward has joined other MPs and Peers to meet with Cats Protection, the UK’s leading cat charity which helps over 200,000 cats every year, at its annual event in Parliament to celebrate the charity’s work, and discuss its current campaigns.
The event helped to highlight its work in helping improve the lives of cats and the people who love them. Edward discussed the charity’s award-winning Purrfect Landlords campaign, aimed at encouraging more landlords to allow tenants to own cats with the team from Cats Protection, as well as hearing about the charity’s work in calling for compulsory microchipping of cats.
Edward commented: “Cats are much-loved pets for millions of people in the UK, and Cats Protection do amazing work to help improve the lives of cats and campaigning around cat welfare issues, so it was great to meet up with them in Parliament to hear more about their great work and the issues they are currently campaigning on, and to offer them my support for their work.”
