Edward has met with campaigners from the Anthony Nolan Trust in Parliament to hear about the Trust's 'I Care' campaign about post-operation support for people recovering from a stem cell transplant.
The Anthony Nolan Trust is a charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. They help match incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who need lifesaving transplants. They also conduct world-class research into stem cell matching and transplants, to help ensure people get the best possible treatment. The Trust's current campaign is focussed on the care and support that people recovering from a stem-cell transplant need, and what more can be done to ensure that the health and social care systems deliver this.
Following the meeting, Edward said: "I have met with the Anthony Nolan Trust on a number of occasions since becoming an MP in 2015, including earlier this summer. It is always fantastic to hear from them about their work and the life-changing, and life-saving, difference it makes to people with blood cancer every day. I am proud to support this charity's amazing work, and will work with them to help ensure that people recovering from a stem-cell transplant get the on-going support and care they need."
