Edward has joined pupils, parents, staff, and local councillors to mark the official opening of the new Hallam Fields Primary School in Birstall.
Hallam Fields Primary School is a brand new one-form entry school, designed and built to the most up to date specifications to serve families on the Hallam Fields development on the west side of Birstall. The school is run by the Lionheart Academies Trust, and is the result of a lot of hard work by the Trust, the County Council, local councillors, the developers, and the whole community. The school will not only provide primary school places for residents of Hallam Fields, but will help play its part along with Birstall's other primary schools in meeting local needs for school places.
Following the opening, and a tour of the new school, Edward said: "This is a fantastic new school which will not only provide a great education for local children in Hallam Fields and Birstall, but which will also play an important role at the heart of the broader Hallam Fields community. All those involved in the project should be hugely proud of their role in getting this state-of-the-art school built and open for pupils. I look forward to visiting the school again in the future, and wish the new head teacher, Scott Fewster, his team and the pupils all the best as they start the new school year in a brand new school."
