Edward has attended Councillor Joe Orson’s Civic Service for Leicestershire County Council, held this year at St Mary’s Church in Melton Mowbray. The Rector of St Mary’s, Revd Dr Mary Barr, and the team at the church put on a fantastic service, recognising local County Councillor Joe Orson, this year’s Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, for his public service, and encouraging all of those present to reflect on the public service of all of our County Councillors and the Council Officers who work with them.
Edward said: “Our local councils, whether the County Council, our Borough Councils, or Parish Councils all, in different ways, provide key local services that help our communities to function and to thrive, and it is right we take the opportunity when it arises to express gratitude to those who serve on them, and work in them. This thoughtful service of thanks and recognition was a very nice, and public, way to do this.”
