Hoby Horticultural Society has celebrated its centenary show in the village hall, with a stunning display of fruit, vegetables, flowers and crafts entered into the Show by local people. Edward joined local residents at the Show in Hoby, along with local Borough Councillor, Ronan Browne, and Chair of Hoby with Rotherby Parish Council, Cllr James Falconer Smith, to celebrate the Show’s 100 years and cut the centenary cake, to admire the exhibits and learn more about the history of the Society, and to enjoy tea, cake and the Brass Band on a glorious summer’s day.
Edward said: “It was a huge privilege to be asked to cut the Hoby Horticultural Society’s centenary anniversary cake, and it was a real pleasure for the second year in a row to join the local community in Hoby for the special event that is the annual Show, all the more so in this centenary year. The stunning exhibits on display put my own attempts at gardening to shame, and were all of an exceptional standard. Huge congratulations must go to Society President, Vida Gregory, and the Committee, and to everyone involved in putting on such a fantastic afternoon, which brought the whole community together. Here’s to the next hundred years!”
