Edward has secured a meeting in Parliament with National Highways directors to discuss issue of real local concern. He has long campaigned for improvements to the A46 Seagrave-Thrussington crossover junction to address real concerns about safety, and this will be top of the agenda for the meeting, alongside the need for improvements to the A52, used by many of his constituents, particularly around Bottesford to improve safety, as well as getting an update on the next stage of scoping plans for improvements to the Syston Hobby Horse Roundabout on the A46 to address congestion, something that Edward successfully pressed National Highways to include in their forward planning.
Edward said: "Improving our local transport infrastructure, including our major roads in the area, has long been a priority for me, and something I have campaigned for for many years. National Highways' agreement to meet with me in June is an important opportunity to continue to press for further investment to improve the A46 & A52, but also to get an update on National Highways' work examining options to improve the Syston Hobby Horse roundabout, that I helped secure agreement from them to undertake."
