Edward has marked World Mental Health Day by speaking at an Adhar Project at a packed-out event at Birstall Social Club to highlight the importance of good mental health, as well as the Adhar Project’s work to support people in Thurmaston, Birstall, and in Leicester.
The Adhar Project are a Leicester-based charity, established in 1989, to provide community services and community support to people suffering from mental health difficulties, or loneliness. The charity is focussed on delivering for BAME groups, but not exclusively so, and works with elderly people to help tackle isolation and loneliness, and to provide support and advice.
Edward said: "Mental health issues can affect any one of us, so it was a real pleasure to join the Adhar Project's event in Birstall, to mark World Mental Health Day, to highlight the importance of good mental health, and the value of getting the right support at the right time. I congratulate the team at the Adhar Project for putting on such an important, successful, and hugely well-attended event."
