Some residents in Cossington, in the vicinity of Main Street, have highlighted issue with flooding after heavy rain, with the highway gullies on Main Street unable to function at their design capacity, and Severn Trent Water's surface water sewer struggling to cope. Edward has called upon STW to work with LCC to find a way forward to tackle this issue, given it’s current lack of resolution is leading to continued surface water flooding in Main Street, and to work with him and local Councillor James Poland to develop a plan to do so.
Edward said: "Having been contacted by local residents & local Councillor James Poland, who has been working on this issue, I have raised with Severn Trent Water's Chief Executive the issue of flooding in Main Street in Cossington, particularly after heavy rain, and the need for STW, and LCC, to work together to find a solution that will prevent local residents experiencing flooding in the future. I look forward to hearing back from STW, and to working with Cllr Poland to make progress."
