Edward has met with Inspector David Stokes, the local Charnwood Borough Police Commander, to discuss local policing priorities and issues raised by constituents, and the work being done to tackle crime locally.
Edward said: “I am grateful to Inspector Stokes for what was an extremely useful meeting to discuss local policing priorities, and the work being done to crack down on crime, and address my constituents’ priorities on law and order.
Ensuring that we have effective local policing, including on issues like rural crime and traffic-related issues, are a key priority for me here in Charnwood, so it was good to hear about the great work being done by our local police from the Inspector, including partnership working between the police, our local communities, and other organisations like our local councils. I am reassured that our local Police do have a clear focus on proactively tackling all crime, including rural crime, and are achieving good results, but it’s vital that that strong focus on local neighbourhood policing is retained and continues to be built upon.”
