Following Edward’s call on the County Council to undertake a full review of traffic flows and the road layout at the roundabout on the A607/ Melton Road in Thurmaston to help address the regular severe congestion there, he has received a positive and helpful response from the Chief Executive of LCC. In that response the Chief Executive agreed that a full review of the area was needed to determine if there are particular highways measures that will improve traffic flows and management at this location, and agreed to undertake such a review, although noting reasonably that this was a complex piece of work and could take some time.
Edward said: “I very much welcome this constructive and helpful response from LCC in agreeing to review traffic issues at this major junction/ roundabout in Thurmaston, and look forward to it getting underway in the coming months. It’s important we continue to keep a focus on what can be done to address the congestion issues at this busy location.”
