Edward has visited Mountsorrel Quarry, operated by Tarmac, to get an update on the business, the quarry’s operations, and the central role played by the aggregates mined at the quarry in building and infrastructure projects the length and breadth of the UK. It also provided an opportunity to get an update on Tarmac’s long-term commitment to, and investment in, the quarry.
Following the site visit, Edward said: “Mountsorrel Quarry, operated by Tarmac, is an important local employer and an important part of the Charnwood community, as well as being one of the main sites producing aggregates that ensure vital infrastructure and building projects actually happen. I’m very grateful to the Tarmac team for taking me round the site to see it in operation, as well as to update me on their investment in the quarry.”
