Edward has met with the team from the Alzheimers Society at their event in Parliament to get an update on their research and campaigning work.
Dementia is a disease that affects a significant number of people in this country, as well as having an impact on the families and caters of those with the disease, and represents one of our country’s biggest health challenges and priorities, so Edward took the opportunity to get an update on the latest research and campaign priorities from the Alzheimers Society.
Edward said: “As a former Co-Chairman of the APPG on Dementia, and now a Health Minister, I know how important a continued focus on dementia research and care is, particularly given the number of people impacted by this disease. Increasing awareness of dementia, ensuring effective care for those with dementia and support for their families and carers, and continuing the vital research in to the disease to better understand how to treat it and ultimately find a cure, are key priorities for the Alzheimers Society, me as an MP, for the Government, and should be for all of us, so it was great to hear from the Alzheimers Society about the latest updates, and their work.”
