Edward paid a visit to Groby Ex-Servicemen’s Club at the kind invitation of Club Secretary, Nathan, to hear more about the Club’s facilities, like the Carling Suite, the refurbishment of the Snooker Room, and the extensive function rooms, as well as to hear about the Club and its plans, and to enjoy a pint with some of the Club Officers.
Edward said: “Clubs, like Groby Ex-Servicemen’s Club, play a central role in community life, and the Ex-Servicemen’s Club is one of those Groby institutions, that helps bind the village together and play such a vital role in community life.
It was great to meet Nathan, Eddie and Tim from the Officers’ team to hear about the Club’s history, and it’s plans for the future, as well as to hear from Nathan about the national work of the Workingmen’s Club and Institute Union, on whose Executive he serves, and Clubs' place in the life of towns and villages up and down the country."
