Edward has met with local Groby residents affected by the persistent flooding issues on Leicester Road to get an update from them on Severn Trent's delivery of its commitment to solve the problem.
While paint markings on the road to show the likely location of the delayed 'trial holes' preparatory to the main work were visible, those trial holes were still un-dug, and the agreed timetable for remedial works appeared to be slipping further. Given the impact of this issue on local residents, and the risk of significant delays to the engineering solution, Edward has again contacted Severn Trent's Chief Executive calling upon them to confirm a firm, committed, date for the digging of the trial holes, a fixed timetable for the main works, and a re-commitment to deliver what has been promised to local residents, to help protect them from further flooding issues this winter.
