Edward has met with local Melton food and drink producers at an event, organised in Parliament by Charnwood’s neighbouring MP, Alicia Kearns, to showcase the fantastic food and drink produced in the area at ‘A Taste of Rutland and Melton’.
The event gave parliamentarians and others who dropped in the opportunity to sample some of the best produce our country creates, from pork pies, to gin, to world famous Stilton cheese, as well as to talk to the people behind the food and drink being showcased, to hear more about their businesses, their plans for growth, and the challenges they face.
Edward said: “Leicestershire produces some of the best food and drink in the world, with many of its products being world-famous, and rightly so! It was a pleasure to join my fellow Leicestershire MP, Alicia, at the event she organised in Parliament to showcase the area’s food and drink producers. As a regular shopper in Melton it was great to see so many of those fantastic local businesses in Parliament, and to hear about their work and their passion for producing such amazing food and drink.”
