Ahead of their trip to Cheltenham for the National Brass Band Championship finals, Edward bumped into Syston Town Band in the town to wish them the very best of luck as they set off this weekend. The National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain is the most prestigious brass band competition in the world, and our very own fantastic Syston Town Band has made it to the finals. Syston Town Band is a Syston institution over 150 years old, performing at many local events in the town each year, regarded with massive affection and support by the town, and bringing together local people to enjoy playing first-class brass band music to bring enjoyment to everyone who listens to them.
Edward said: “Syston Town Band is an institution in our town and given the incredibly high standard of its music and performances it is rightly in the finals of the National Brass Band Championship being held in Cheltenham this weekend. It was a real treat to bump in to them as they were about to board their coach to head to the finals, and as Syston’s local MP I wish a great bunch of people the very best of luck in the Championships!”
