On the last day of Christmas term, Edward has visited Wreake Valley Academy in Syston and was warmly welcomed by Head Teacher, Tim Marston to see the school in action. They were able to discuss the progress Wreake Valley has made over recent years, and speak to students from different year groups, to hear about their academic ambitions, and views of the Academy.
With an Ofsted Rating of ‘Good’ in 2022, Edward was delighted that the school had improved from its last inspection and is focused on continued improvement to teaching and learning, and particularly its focus on encouraging aspiration in all students.
Edward said: “I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Wreake Valley Academy, somewhere I have visited a number of times in the past, and to catch up with Tim to discuss school funding, and his plans for Wreake Valley Academy, and most importantly to speak to the students themselves.
I heard about their ambitions for the future, what the Academy has been doing to encourage and support all students to aspire and to reach their full potential, and how Wreake Valley has positively changed in recent years. I want to thank Wreake Valley for hosting my visit, and all at the Academy for all they do for young people in Syston and beyond."
