Edward has welcomed the Chairman, Chief Executive, and other leaders of our local hospitals, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, to Parliament to discuss the performance of our local hospitals, the pressures they face, and their plans for the future.
Edward took the opportunity to raise A&E waiting times, and the pressures affecting the department, as well as the improvements our local hospitals have made in reducing waiting lists, and what more is being done to get waiting lists down. The UHL team also updated Edward on the Trust’s plans for a new hospital to serve our community.
Edward said: “I was very pleased to welcome our local hospital Trust’s Chief Executive, Chairman, and others in their team to Parliament, and to have the opportunity to hold useful discussions with them about our local hospitals’ plans for the future, investment in our hospitals, and the performance of our local hospitals for patients, as well as issues that have been raised with me by constituents.
I look forward to catching-up again with them on future occasions in Leicester, to receive any future updates on the situation locally, and am grateful to them for their time, and to everyone who works in our local hospitals for their dedicated and amazing work.”
