Edward has joined older people's charity Age UK at an event in Parliament to highlight the needs of older people, the challenges they can face, and the need to ensure that our care system meets their future needs. He met with the team from Age UK to discuss the future of social care, and the challenges facing older people, as well as the opportunities to better meet the changing demands of the UK's population on health, social care, and society more broadly, in the 21st century.
Edward said, “I was delighted to join Age UK to hear their thoughts about the needs of older people, and to reaffirm my commitment to working with them, other charities, and the Government to ensure that the views and needs of older people are heard and listened to. I fully support the Government in its determination to deliver services for older people to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, and in recognising the huge amount we all owe older people, and the obligation we have to ensure they are supported in older age."
