It is with great sadness that I write this as our nation mourns the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Our longest-reigning Monarch was cherished by millions in this country, and around the world reflecting the millions of lives she touched, and I offer my deepest condolences to HM The King and the Royal Family on their loss.
During her reign, Her Majesty dedicated her life to selfless public service, and to our country and the Commonwealth. The respect and affection shown by so many people reflects the gratitude we all have to Her Majesty and for her loyal service to her people.
I felt privileged and proud to lived during her reign. Her Majesty had a deep understanding of her people, and she was a constant throughout our entire lives. Her exceptional ability to unite our nation, especially during times of hardship or challenge, made her the stable foundation on which so much in the United Kingdom’s recent history has been built. She showed this most recently, when she addressed the nation with a warm message of reassurance during the Covid pandemic, filling us with hope and resilience. It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to our gracious Queen, but Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy lives on throughout our nation.
God save the King.
