Edward has welcomed the Secretary of State for Education, Rt. Hon Gavin Williamson MP, to Charnwood, on a visit to Newtown Linford Primary School.
The visit provided an opportunity for Gavin to have a tour of the school, to meet with current students and staff, as well as receive a useful update from the Headteacher, Mrs Chorlton, on the schools’ plans for the future, and funding for local schools.
Edward said: “It was great to visit Newtown Linford Primary School which most recently received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, following an inspection in June 2019. It is clear that the school offers a wonderful education for local children in the village and Gavin and I thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to visit, and hear about the school’s success. I was also grateful for the chance to catch-up with the Headteacher on the school’s progress, and look forward to returning to visit again in the future.”
