Edward has given his support to our air ambulance charities at an event in Parliament to highlight and promote the work of Air Ambulance charities across the country, and took the opportunity to meet up with the team from our local Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to hear about their work, and their plans for the future.
Our air ambulance charities rely entirely on charitable donations and fund-raising, a funding model they have said they prefer as it enables them to be independent of Government in their decision-making and operation, but it does mean that it is important we all support this amazing service where we can.
Edward said: "Our local air ambulance, like air ambulances up and down the country, do an amazing job, getting critically injured and ill people to hospital faster, and from often very remote and inaccessible locations. In remote rural areas, or after a serious accident it can make the difference between life and death. It was great to meet the team from our local air ambulance charity to hear more about their work but also, crucially, to say thank you to them."
