Edward has visited Thrussington CofE Primary School to meet with the Headteacher, staff, and pupils, to hear about the recent successes of the school, to take questions, and to have an opportunity to talk directly with the Headteacher about any issues he may be able to assist with as Thrussington’s local MP, including building on his recent support for funding bids.
As well as catching up with the Headteacher and taking questions from pupils, it was also an opportunity to view progress on the new-build school hall, funded by the Government through a successful bid by Thrussington CofE Primary, that Edward joined with the School and Governors in supporting.
Edward said: “I have visited Thrussington CofE Primary School many times as the local MP, and it is always a pleasure to meet with pupils, teachers, and the Headteacher, to take questions and hear about recent developments at this fantastic school that plays such a large part in village life, providing a high quality education for children from the village and further afield.
It was particularly good to see the progress of the building work on the much-needed new school hall building, following the successful funding bid by the school that I and others supported. I very much look forward to seeing it completed and being used by pupils in the months ahead. Following on from the new classroom block a few years ago, the new school hall building is another much needed piece of the jigsaw to ensure Thrussington CofE Primary has the facilities it needs to continue to provide that high quality teaching and learning, and I congratulate Headteacher, Hannah Roddy and her team on all their work.”
