Edward, along with other Leicestershire MPs, has today met with Local Government Minister, Luke Hall MP, to discuss the priorities for local Councils in Leicestershire and, once again, make the case for a fairer share of the available funding for our County, as he has done since being elected.
Edward said: “It was useful to meet with the Minister, to once again set out our views on how the current funding formula could be improved, to benefit our local Councils in Leicestershire. We all recognise that the overall size of the local Government funding pot has to reflect the need to keep the budget under control and live within our means, but this is about pressing for a fairer share of that overall funding that is available. Leicestershire is a wonderful area of the country with huge potential, and it is important that we see that fairer share of funding that will benefit both the area, and local people.”
