As part of his regular programme of visits to local schools, Edward has visited Wreake Valley Academy in Syston to discuss schools funding in Leicestershire with Principal, Tony Pinnock, and to hear from students about their community and charitable activity.
Edward said: “Since my election in 2015 I have campaigned for a fairer funding formula for our schools, to address Leicestershire’s historically lower levels of funding than schools in some other parts of the country receive, and I am encouraged by the progress we have made on securing a review of the funding formula. It was good to catch up with Tony to discuss schools funding, and Wreake Valley Academy’s funding needs, but also to hear from students about their activity to engage with the local community and raise money for good causes, and I pay tribute to them for their fantastic work.
I will continue campaigning for a fairer share of the schools funding pot for our county’s schools, and look forward to helping secure further progress.”
