Edward has joined visitors from across the region to visit Rainbows Hospice for children and young people on their 2017 Open Day.
Rainbows Hospice, in Loughborough, provides care and support for children and young people, and their families, from across the East Midlands, and its annual open day is an opportunity for everyone to visit Rainbows to see for themselves the amazing work it does. As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, since 1994 Rainbows has provided a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support, free of charge. A key part of Rainbows' success is the huge support it receives from local people, both as volunteers and through generous donations.
Edward said: "It is always a privilege, and very humbling, to visit Rainbows, and to meet the amazing team there who do so much to care for the children and young people, and support their families. Far from being a sad place as some might expect, Rainbows is actually a tremendously happy, bright, place with the care and love clear to anyone who visits. It was good to join Rainbows' Chair of Trustees, Diane Postle, for a tour and to talk about Rainbows' work and plans for the future, and I would encourage everyone to continue their strong support of this very special place."
