At the invitation of Charnwood based owners Beverley and Steve Coltman, Edward has visited Charnwood Nursery and Pre-School in Thurmaston to meet members of the team, and learn more about the nursery’s work.
Edward was pleased to have the opportunity to see for himself the great service provided by Beverley and her team, as well as to hear about their plans for the future and discuss the implementation of the new 30 hours funded childcare policy introduced by the Government. Edward knows local families can often struggle with the costs of childcare, and is supporting the roll out of the policy which helps working parents of three and four year old children, so this proved a valuable chance to hear how the policy is working in practice locally.
Edward said: "It was great to meet Beverley and members of her team and to see for myself the fantastic service this nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, provides to parents and children from Thurmaston and further afield. It was also really useful to discuss with Beverley how the 30 hours funded childcare policy is working and, from her professional standpoint, how she feels it could be built on and further developed in the future."
