Edward has visited Great Dalby Primary School at the invitation of the Headteacher, Nick Sale, following the school's elections to the School Council, to present the School Council badges to those who had been elected to represent their fellow pupils, to talk about democracy, and to take questions.
Alongside speaking in the school assembly, and taking questions, Edward’s visit also provided an opportunity to see the school, and to talk to Mr Sale about the school's successes, it's plans for the future, and important issues like funding and SEND provision in our county.
Edward said: “I want to congratulate everyone who took part in the School Council elections, whether they were elected or not, and have to say how massively impressed I was by the amount of research the young people had done, the insight and detail of their questions, and by their interest in, and engagement with, the issues in the world around them. They should rightly all be very proud of themselves. I'm also grateful to Mr Sale and his staff team for their time in hosting me, and for their work for our community locally.”
