Edward has visited Bishop Ellis Catholic Voluntary Academy in Thurmaston to be shown around the new school buildings by pupils at the school, to answer their questions, and to discuss SEND funding and provision, as well as the school’s educational successes, with the Headteacher, Mr Monaghan, and St Thomas Acquinas Multi-Academy Trust CEO, Mr Lockyer.
Following a very useful meeting, pupils showed Edward round the fantastic state-of-the-art Academy buildings, opened just a few years ago, and told him about what it was like to study at Bishop Ellis, and what they liked about the school.
Edward said: “It was a great pleasure to visit Bishop Ellis Academy in Thurmaston, not just to meet with the Headteacher and Trust CEO to discuss finance, SEND provision, and the school’s successes in teaching and learning, but most importantly to meet students and hear from them about their school, and to answer their questions.
Having worked with the school back in 2016 to support them in their campaign for funding to rebuild the old school, it was fantastic to see the result of their work, and the new school buildings that provide a first-class environment for teaching and learning.”
