Edward has cut the ribbon to officially open the 'Little Libraries' designed and built by 1st Woodhouse Eaves Guides at Woodhouse Eaves Village Hall. The 'Little Libraries' are based on a simple idea - take a book, leave a book, and the local Guides, under the guidance of Jill McLeod, have designed and built three of them, two of which will be located in Woodhouse Eaves, and one in Woodhouse.
Edward said: "It was a privilege to be asked by Jill to cut the ribbon on these Little Libraries. I was hugely impressed by the skill and imagination the Guides had shown in the design and creation of the libraries, and they should rightly be very proud of their work. Not only are the Libraries fantastic things in their own right, and will hopefully encourage all ages to read more, but projects like this also help to build that sense of community and community spirit that makes villages like Woodhouse and Woodhouse Eaves such friendly places."
