Edward has secured investment from Network Rail to resurface a railway bridge in Kirby Muxloe, after his campaign with local residents. The surface of the bridge on Forest Drive in Kirby Muxloe had deteriorated resulting in a steep incline on each side, causing cars to catch at the centre point, and the steep incline to be challenging for elderly people walking over the bridge. After being approached by local residents, Edward has campaigned over recent months to secure a commitment from Network Rail to fund resurfacing works to tackle the problem, and this week that met with success as the works were carried out.
Edward commented: "The surface & incline on this railway bridge was increasingly causing problems for vehicles & pedestrians alike, so I am very pleased that Network Rail responded positively to my representations & campaign on behalf of local people in Kirby Muxloe. This week we've seen them carry out the works I & local people wanted to see, with the investment in Kirby Muxloe I was able to secure from Network Rail."
