Edward has been involved in supporting local residents on Groby's Leicester Road to get action from Severn Trent Water to tackle persistent flooding in the area since 2019, and has again pressed Severn Trent's Chief Executive for progress in delivering the promised works to tackle the issue.
The flooding issues at this location, which see both surface water floods, and waste water network capacity issues, have had a significant impact on local residents and therefore I, as Groby's MP, and local residents welcomed Severn Trent's commitment to deliver a solution to this problem, with the necessary engineering works. However, these works have not progressed in the way and at the speed needed to resolve this problem for residents, so Edward has pressed Severn Trent's Chief Executive to get them underway.
Edward said: "Groby residents on Leicester Road affected by this issue need action to tackle it. While Severn Trent's commitment to do so was welcome, it now needs to be delivered on the ground and I am calling on Severn Trent to do just that."
