Along with County Councillor James Poland, Edward, as Thrussington's local MP, has met with local residents in the village concerned about the implications for the village of the planning application for dozens of new houses off Old Gate Road, coming on top of other applications for more development in the village.
Edward said: "While I recognise and support the need for new houses, of the right size and right design, in the right places, to meet genuinely local unmet needs, I do fully share local residents' concerns in Thrussington about the very real cumulative impacts of the different applications in this small village community, and the likely impacts on local infrastructure, roads and traffic, and the special character of Thrussington, and strongly question the sustainability of these developments if they were approved by Charnwood Councillors."
