Edward has met with members of the Hinckley Chamber of Trade to discuss issues ranging from the economy, to Brexit, to business conditions and local infrastructure priorities.
At a packed meeting held in the Cafe Espanol in the town centre, chaired by the Chamber's President, Rosemary Wright, Edward spoke about the current political scene, the UK's withdrawal from the EU, and our national, and local, economy and took questions from members, before having an informal discussion with attendees.
The Hinckley Chamber of Trade was originally founded in 1958 and since its re-launch in 2013 has gone from strength to strength. Like other Chambers, the Hinckley Chamber provides a strong voice for local businesses in the area.
Edward said: "It was a great pleasure to address a packed meeting of the Hinckley Chamber of Trade, and to have a lively and interesting discussion with members. The Hinckley Chamber of Trade, like similar Chambers across our area and across the country, does a fantastic, and hugely important, job of bringing together business people and making sure the local voice of business is heard.
Our region, the East Midlands, is playing a crucial role in driving forward growth and new jobs, benefiting the whole of the UK. It is businesses like those who are members of the Hinckley Chamber who are delivering that success, and events like this are important opportunities to hear from them about their priorities for the Government and economy."
