Edward visited the annual Woodhouse Eaves’ Flower Show on Saturday 7th September, which boasted not only its’ regular, large crowd of visitors, but also, as always, a fantastic display of flowers, veg, and crafts.
As a key feature of the Woodhouse Eaves’ calendar, the event showcased the villages’ horticultural and craft talent, and was, as always, a great opportunity to bring the local community together. While at the event, Edward also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the ‘Enrych’ charity- to hear about their work providing support to those living with a disability.
Edward said: “The Woodhouse Eaves’ Show really demonstrates what Charnwood has to offer, particularly the strong community spirit and rural beauty that are defining aspects of the constituency. Attending the Show annually allows me to see and appreciate all the hard work put in by local residents to grow and share such wonderful flowers, as well as those who help to organise and put on such a great show. I thank all participants for their efforts and very much look forward to attending next year! It was also great to meet with the ‘Enrych’ charity at the show, to hear more about the fantastic work they do to help those living with a disability to develop independence and improve self-belief. I commend the whole team for their work and am especially grateful to those in the Leicestershire & Derbyshire branch, for their efforts locally.”
