Edward has been presented with Beat’s ‘Parliamentarian of the Year Award’ at an awards ceremony in London.
The Award is given to the Member of Parliament who has done the most to improve services for people with eating disorders, raised awareness and championed the issue in Parliament.
Edward commented: “It is a great honour to have been given award by the fantastic national eating disorder charity, Beat. It is vital that we raise awareness of eating disorders and ensure that early intervention, and the right treatment is available for everyone with an eating disorder who needs it. I am pleased to have been able to support Beat’s work in Parliament, highlighting the importance of spotting the first signs of eating disorders to ensure people access the help they need very early on, and to speak up for all those with eating disorders.”
