Our pubs are often at the heart of the community in our towns and villages, and play a huge role in bringing the community together, and providing a place where we come together to enjoy food, drink, and socialising.
Edward has visited the Forge Inn in Glenfield, to meet Sam Hagger who founded the successful Beautiful Pubs Collective, which includes the Forge Inn, to discuss the importance of pubs to our communities, the challenges they have faced in recent years, and how Government, and we as individuals, can support our local pubs to ensure they are there, at the heart of our towns and villages, for many years to come. Sam's business provides employment for over 100 people, and, as a local man, he set out why he is so passionate about thriving local pubs offering a great service to local communities, and how important it is that we value our pubs.
Edward said: "It was great to visit the Forge Inn in Glenfield to meet Sam and hear about his passion for hospitality and for thriving pubs. As well as discussing the challenges pubs face, alongside the opportunities and support the Government has provided, he also told me about the work the team at the Forge Inn had done to support people during the pandemic, and the community. Pubs like the Forge Inn are the beating heart of our towns and villages, and it is vital that, if we want them to be there for decades to come, we support our local pubs."
