Edward has joined Carers UK at an event in advance of Carers Rights Day on 24th November to highlight the hugely important role carers play in our country each and every day.
The event marked the launch by Carers UK of research which shows that, despite 1 in 10 people in the UK acting as a carer, the wider public is often unable to recognise friends and family that act as carers meaning that some carers are missing out on the support that is available to help them. In many cases carers themselves don't always recognise that they are performing that role.
After the report launch Edward said: "An army of unpaid, voluntary, carers looks after family, friends and neighbours every day in the UK, and it is vital that, as well as recognising that crucial work, we do everything we can to make sure they are aware of the help and support they are entitled to and can access that support. Carers UK do fantastic work supporting carers and highlighting the work carers do, and it was a pleasure to support them at their event to mark Carers Rights Day."
