Edward joined local Birstall residents, Councillors, and Birstall Parish Council Chairman, Ann Marshall, at the annual Birstall Gala on Saturday, and at the Burley Houses summer garden party.
The rain failed to dampen spirits at either event, and everyone had a fantastic time. The hugely popular Birstall Gala brings together entertainment, a fun fair, fireworks, and an array of stalls from charities, volunteer organisations, and people with things to sell to ensure there was something for everyone to enjoy. And the Burley Houses in Birstall, undeterred by the weather, held their annual summer garden tea party for residents and invited guests, giving everyone a chance to catch up, and to enjoy the tea and fantastic cakes!
Edward said: "Events like the Birstall Gala, and the garden party hosted by residents of the Burley Houses, bring the local community together, as well as being a fantastic day out. It was great to see everyone, and I know how much work goes in to putting on events like this. I want to congratulate everyone in Birstall who volunteered at these events, and who helped put them together, as well as the Parish Council. I look forward to coming again next year!"
